This is the title of a military trumpet song played when the flag goes down in the evening. It is a sad, mournful sound. Posting entries on my blog is getting too difficult for me. I have enjoyed writing in my own simple way, but others in my family will have to take over now. Thanks to the many followers of my blog for your comments and encouraging emails. God bless you and keep you, and make His face to shine upon you.
Jack

ReplyDeleteDear friend in Christ,
ReplyDeleteLooking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.Hebr.12:2 That you may be with you the last way you've to go. Thanks, many thanks for your encouraging blogs. "As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country." Fare well!
Praying for you!
Though we do not know you, we have appreciated your words here on the blog. We've shared some of your entries with young people in our church as a means of encouragement when they were struggling. You've been a faithful servant. May the Lord give you strength and peace as you finish the race.
ReplyDeleteMay the Lord bless you and keep you as well, Jack, till the trumpet will sound to usher you into glory.

ReplyDeleteI have been so blessed by your simple, honest, hope-filled posts. Will miss them! May our mighty Lord continue to be your strength.
ReplyDeleteDear Brother, while you are still living you remain in the battle. May the words of of the Apostle Paul to Timothy continue to inspire you in that struggle. We fight with you. "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses." I Timothy 6:12. Dear Jack, you have made a good profession before many witnesses. May God receive the honor as He encourages you to victory!
ReplyDeleteDear Jack,
ReplyDeleteLast year, for staff devotions at The Kings School, where I work in Langley, I spoke of you and had them watch the birthday surprise for your 59th birthday. I mentioned how , 26 years ago, you listened and encouraged me at the lowest point in my teaching career. I, by the way, just visited where the last spike was laid at Craigallachie, B.C., this summer. Your devotion inspired me, and I hope to share it with my collegues.
You a living testimony of how all things work together for good to those called according to God's purpose, those dearly loved by God.
Sincerely, Peter Langbroek
