This blog was created to keep all of our family and friends informed of what is going on in our lives as our dear husband, father and Opa battles ALS. May God receive the full glory as we walk on this path He has chosen for our family. "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:9

Gone to Glory
At 4:00 pm today, the Lord took home our loving husband, father, son and grandfather. He died at home, peacefully, in his wife's arms.
Our thoughts, sympathies, and prayers are with you all. Jack fought a good fight, he finished his course, he kept the faith, and is now crowned with righteousness. Even though the suffering was at times unbearable for him, he now knows that these sufferings are not worthy to be compared with the glory being revealed to him. (Colossians 3:1-2)
What a wonderful testimony of God's grace and goodness. I never had the privilege of meeting Jack, but I know he touched many lives, including mine. May God grant all of you peace, comfort, and strength.
I am sorry for your loss. I know how horrible this disease is. My dear mother lost her battle on December 19, 2014. As much as I hated to lose her, I could never wish her back to the life she was living. God Bless you all
My sincere condolences with the loss of Jack, I know how difficult life will be without him. But he is, for the first time in a long time, free of suffering, pain and illness. He is with our Lord and all his loved ones gone on before, wearing the robe of righteousness, and a crown on gold. He has but gone on ahead, you will see each other again. May you be comforted with God's Word and Spirit. Thea H
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Jack is now in the presence of His Saviour and that is a great comfort, but there is grief here because of an empty place in the family. May the Lord be near to all of you, uphold you and strengthen you now and in the time to come. With love, Mary VanDoodewaard
We express our condolences for the loss of the dear brother with Mr. Jack Westerink. In many ways, his life and testimony has been inspirational to us through this blog. May the LORD be near to each of you at this time of great loss. (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10).
Dear family, God is so good. Your husband's blogs were a blessing for us so many times, although we didn't know him! He now sees face to face his dear Saviour. "Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death" That may be a great comfort in your sorrow and tears for missing your dear husband, son, father and grandfather. In dutch Ps. 68:2 sais: Maar 't vrome volk in U verheugd, zal huppelen van zielevreugd, daar zij hun wens verkrijgen! We believe that has been reality for him! We're praying for you! God bless you. Greetings from Holland.
Amidst the sorrow and loss there is reason to celebrate. He is now with his Lord and Saviour! May He be your comfort in this time of grief. Gary and Jen Dendekker and family.
But let the righteous, blessed of yore, Joy in their God as ne'er before, Faith's victory achieving. Their joy shall then unbounded be Who see God's face eternally, Their heart's desire receiving. Exalt, exalt the Name of God; Sing ye His royal fame abroad With fervent exultation; Cast up a highway smooth and wide That through the deserts He may ride, Jehovah, our salvation.
High in the heavens has Jehovah founded His lofty throne, by cherubim surrounded; And lo, His kingdom ruleth over all! O bless the Lord, ye angels full of glory, Ye mighty heroes, famed in sacred story, That do His word, obedient to His call!
Our condolences to Lena and the family. May the Lord comfort and keep you in the days and weeks ahead. We always enjoyed reading this blog and were inspired by Jack's testimony of the Lord's goodness despite his suffering.
Our sympathy goes out to you, Lena, and your precious family. What a beautiful service today - So glad that we could view via sermon audio and join in fellowship. Jack was a blessing to so many - more than we'll ever know. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant..." John and Cora Beute
