Eternal Security

When I was reading through the book of Romans this week, I was especially comforted by chapter 8. This chapter contains many Christian doctrines which provide much hope and comfort. Doctrines such as election, adoption, and divine sovereignty can be found here. We have chosen verse 28 for our gravestone two years ago: "all things work together for good". Yes, even ALS.

The apostle Paul also deals with the doctrine of eternal security by answering the question: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
"Shall tribulation,
or distress,
or persecution,
or famine,
or nakedness,
or peril,
or sword?
Neither death,
nor life,
nor angels,
nor principalities,
nor powers,
nor things present,
nor things to come,
nor height,
nor depth,
nor any other creature
shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:35, 38, 39.

With that eternal security we can go on from day to day, hour by hour. 'For if God be for us who, or what shall be against us.'

  2. Really, this eternal security alone is the only way to go our way rejoicing, The Lord may give you (and we also need it so much) every day 'leaning upon her Beloved' (Hooglied8:5).Thanks for remembering us this precious words!

  3. Dear Friend,
Thanks for the comforting scripture. I'm reading a book by Paul Trip titled "Forever - Why you can't live without it" It puts how we must live with the Eternal perspective. It brings to mind Rom 8:18 "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us" Especially comforting is vs 26 "Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."
Love to visit you again. I miss the wonderful times we had and have together as friends. I pray for you and Lena daily for His strength and comfort.
    Love, JJB
