Abide With Me

The following is a prayer sent from Margaret and Henk.  It is a beautiful rendition of the hymn Abide With Me.

  1. I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
    Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.
    Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
    I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.

    Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
    Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
    Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee;
    In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

    "But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them." Luk.24:29
    "Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me." Jes.49:16
    He is with you and shall be also with you till you are with Him! "and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
    Wherefore comfort one another with these words!" 1 Thes. 4:17,18
    Warm regards from Holland

  2. One of the most beautiful renderings of this wonderful hymn I have ever heard. It lifts the heart to eternity - to the things of God.
